Wasteland is a single from pop-rock band Against The Current. It is the ninth track off of their debut album, In Our Bones.

Music VideoEdit

The video for Wasteland was released on July 1, 2016 via Fueled By Ramen's YouTube channel. It was shot in England, in London and Surrey respectively. [citation needed]

The video opens with the band's lead singer, Chrissy Costanza, opening her eyes. She is then shown running through a forest (the figurative "wasteland"), where the rest of the band enter the scene. Costanza is shown discovering a garden ("paradise"), and the remainder of the video shows her running in scenes that alternate between the forest and the garden locations. At the end, Costanza is shown closing her eyes in a similar style as the beginning, just as the lyrics say "I don't wanna wake up.

LyricsEdit

Have I lost my mind?
Is this paradise?
Or a darker side?
Candy coated lips
You're the sweetest kiss
But a bad trip

Changing faces
Know the name but I just can't place it
Slurring phrases
Took a step but I can't retrace it
You tell me, "Take this"
But I don't wanna wake up in your

Wasteland
Your wasteland
(I don't wanna wake up in your)
Wasteland
Your wasteland
(No, I don't wanna wake up in your)

Twisted fantasy
In your ecstasy
You're no good for me
Just behind the wall
It's not a dream at all
It's a free fall

Changing faces
Know the name but I just can't place it
Slurring phrases
Took a step but I can't retrace it
You tell me, "Take this"
But I don't wanna wake up in your

Wasteland
Your wasteland
(I don't wanna wake up in your)
Wasteland
Your wasteland
(No, I don't wanna wake up in your)

I don't wanna wake up in your

Changing faces
Slurring phrases
Nothing changes
In your waste-
I don't wanna wake up in your

Wasteland
Your wasteland
(I don't wanna wake up in your)
Wasteland
Your wasteland
(No, I don't wanna wake up in your wasteland)

Changing faces
(In your wasteland)
Slurring phrases
(I don't wanna wake up in your)
Nothing changes
In your waste-
I don't wanna wake up
